Removing solar for roofing is not simply taking panels off and putting them back. It requires electrical documentation, safe handling, correct storage, waterproof roof integration, compatible mounting hardware, recommissioning, and clear responsibility if a problem develops.

Before removal, we document system performance, monitoring status, visible conditions, equipment information, and known alerts. This establishes a baseline and helps identify existing problems before the array is disconnected.
Where the approved scope requires replacement, outdated mounts, flashings, attachments, and footings are upgraded to current compatible components. This improves load transfer, water shedding, roof integration, and long-term serviceability.
Eligible REECH-managed R&R projects include a 10-year workmanship warranty covering the completed R&R work and newly installed roof penetrations, as stated in the final project agreement.
Better roof integration
Older installations may use mounts or sealing methods that are difficult to reuse safely after reroofing. The approved R&R scope can replace worn or outdated components with compatible current-generation mounting and waterproofing hardware.
The REECH R&R process
Complete the pre-removal diagnostic and document production, equipment, monitoring, and visible conditions.
Label, photograph, disconnect, remove, and securely stage the modules and reusable system components.
Coordinate roof preparation, repairs or replacement, inspections, and the solar-ready installation areas.
Install approved modern footings, attachments, flashing, seals, and compatible mounting components where required.
Reinstall, torque, wire, test, commission, and restore monitoring using documented quality-control procedures.
Deliver the closeout record and activate one included year of the REECH Basic Maintenance Plan.
Warranty coverage and maintenance-plan activation apply to eligible REECH-managed projects and are confirmed in the signed project agreement.
